President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced on Saturday that the Philippines will be opening four more embassies this year, further solidifying its independent foreign policy.

Addressing the diplomatic corps at the Vin D’Honneur in Malacanang, the President highlighted the administration’s commitment to broadening its global reach. He emphasized that this expansion builds upon the successful opening of four embassies in Europe and Latin America last year.
“By the end of 2025, we will have 102 foreign service posts, effectively expanding our global presence,” President Marcos stated. “We are committed to establishing even more in the future.”
The President welcomed the recent establishment of embassies from Bahrain and Slovenia in Manila and expressed eagerness to welcome new diplomatic missions from Central Asia.
He underscored that his administration has prioritized a foreign policy that leverages international partnerships to drive economic growth and national development.
“The past two and a half years have witnessed a significant increase in high-level visits and bilateral engagements with both traditional partners and emerging allies,” President Marcos noted. “This vibrant exchange fosters cooperation in key sectors such as economics and security.”
