Wallenius Wilhelmsen, a global leader in integrated vehicle transportation and logistics, proudly announces the official opening of its South Atlantic hub—the Brunswick terminal, along with the equipment processing center (EPC) and vehicle processing center (VPC).
This milestone represents a significant strategic investment for Wallenius Wilhelmsen as it embarks on a 20-year lease with the Georgia Ports Authority (GPA), with options to extend up to 30 years.
“With this investment, we are significantly enhancing our commitment to serving the American market and expanding the scope of our South Atlantic operations,” stated John Felitto, COO of Logistics Services at Wallenius Wilhelmsen. “Brunswick, with its state-of-the-art facilities and infrastructure investments, is well-positioned to support further growth in the US. Our integrated services at the terminal showcase our capabilities as a premier logistics provider” added Felitto.
Felitto emphasized the company’s enthusiasm to enhance services at Brunswick, gearing up to expand its South Atlantic offerings. The facility and infrastructure investments ensure that Wallenius Wilhelmsen can seamlessly accommodate increasing domestic and international volumes in the years ahead.
“Our customers are navigating an ever-changing environment, especially now with rapid shifts. Their needs will evolve, and we must remain flexible to develop our services accordingly. Brunswick, as a modern and purpose-built facility, provides us with the flexibility required,” said Pia Synnerman, Chief Customer Officer at Wallenius Wilhelmsen.
Synnerman highlighted that operational efficiency and a smoother supply chain are achieved through their comprehensive services at the terminal. Trucking capabilities via their sister company KEEN, along with EPC, VPC, terminal, and ocean services, enhance connectivity and exemplify the strength of integrated logistics.
“We are thrilled to continue our strategic partnership with the GPA as we develop and future-proof the Brunswick terminal over the next 20 years,” Synnerman added.
Griff Lynch, President and CEO of Georgia Ports, shared his excitement about partnering with Wallenius Wilhelmsen to support their long-term growth ambitions in the US. “The Port of Brunswick’s size, scale, and world-class facilities will position Wallenius Wilhelmsen for success with new supply chain opportunities,” Lynch stated.
