Erik Thun Group unveils Nossan: A new era in sustainable shipping

Erik Thun Group has officially launched Nossan, the third vessel in its groundbreaking Lake Vänern MAX series, further strengthening its commitment to sustainable and efficient shipping.

Built at the esteemed Ferus Smit shipyard, Nossan carries forward a legacy that began in 1989, when the first vessel bearing this name was constructed. As the 46th ship delivered from this long-standing partnership, Nossan is specifically designed to enhance cargo transport across Sweden and Europe’s inland and coastal waterways.

“With the launch of Nossan, we are taking another step toward a greener future for maritime transport,” said Johan Källsson, Managing Director at Erik Thun Group. “This vessel embodies our ongoing investment in cutting-edge technology and sustainable solutions, enabling us to reduce our environmental footprint while maintaining the highest operational standards.”

The Lake Vänern MAX series is engineered to meet the unique demands of Swedish and European waterways, offering superior efficiency and lower emissions. With Nossan’s introduction, Erik Thun Group reaffirms its dedication to innovation, investment, and leadership in environmentally responsible shipping.

As the company continues to drive its sustainability agenda forward, Erik Thun Group invites industry leaders, policymakers, and stakeholders to collaborate in shaping the future of maritime logistics. The launch of Nossan is not just the addition of a new vessel—it is a significant step toward a more sustainable and efficient shipping industry.
