President Marcos urges Filipinos to seize opportunities at nationwide “Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas” job fairs

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has called on Filipinos to take full advantage of the government’s job program as the nationwide launch of “Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas” approaches.

During the program’s launch on Saturday in Tagum City, Davao del Norte, President Marcos addressed attendees of the job fair, specifically for beneficiaries of the Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps). He encouraged them to seize the opportunities at hand:

“Hangad ko po ang inyong tagumpay. Kakambal nito ay ang aking panawagan na sana po ay mapalawig pa ninyo ang mga pagkakataon at oportunidad na nasa inyong harapan,” the President said.

“I believe that each of you has the capability and determination to make your lives more productive,” he added.

During the job fair launch in January, more than 9,068 applicants vied for job offerings, with over 1,028 people hired on the spot. Among them, at least 95 4Ps beneficiaries were employed. President Marcos also shared the success of last year’s job fairs, noting that 1,908 events resulted in 66,667 immediate hires.

“This is proof of how talented Filipinos are. Our fellow citizens just need the opportunity, like this job fair, and I will do everything to make sure this program spreads across the entire country,” President Marcos emphasized.

In addition to creating job opportunities, the government also offers job matching services to connect job seekers with positions that align with their skills and talents.

The “Trabaho sa Bagong Pilipinas” program aims to empower 4Ps beneficiaries by offering employment opportunities, livelihood assistance, and essential support services. The government plans to assist 4.4 million households this year, including 263,238 in the Davao Region.

At the job fair in Tagum City, 28 employers offer various employment and livelihood opportunities. With 1,240 job vacancies available, positions include customer service representatives, clerks, cashiers, baggers, carpenters, and masons.

This initiative seeks to provide Filipinos with the tools and opportunities to improve their lives and create a more prosperous future for themselves and their families.
