Gebrüder Weiss expands U.S. Footprint with new logistics hub in Phoenix

Global transport and logistics leader Gebrüder Weiss has announced the opening of a new location in Phoenix, Arizona, as part of its strategic expansion in the United States. This new facility will offer a full suite of logistics services, including air and sea freight transport, customs clearance, and both partial and full-load land transport.

The company is strengthening its presence in North America to accommodate increasing trade between the U.S. and Mexico. Arizona plays a pivotal role in cross-border logistics, serving as a crucial gateway for trade between the two countries. In 2023 alone, nearly $20 billion worth of goods were transported between Arizona and Mexico. Phoenix is rapidly emerging as a central transshipment hub, complementing Gebrüder Weiss’ existing locations in El Paso and Laredo, Texas, which specialize in cross-border freight services.

“Our new logistics facility in Phoenix marks another milestone in the growth of Gebrüder Weiss and reinforces our presence in this economically vital region. This expansion allows us to provide our customers with enhanced transport flexibility and more resilient supply chains,” said Mark McCullough, Country Manager of Gebrüder Weiss North America.

Gebrüder Weiss has been steadily growing its North American network in recent years and now operates 17 locations across the continent. Alongside the new Phoenix facility, the company recently inaugurated a logistics terminal in Elgin, Illinois, and established branches in Miami, Florida; Denver, Colorado; and Dallas, Texas. Additionally, in 2024, the company expanded its footprint in Salt Lake City through the acquisition of local freight forwarder Cargo-Link.

Headquartered in Lauterach, Austria, Gebrüder Weiss Holding AG is a globally recognized full-service logistics provider, employing approximately 8,600 people across 180 company-owned locations. In 2023, the company reported revenues of €2.46 billion. Its comprehensive portfolio includes transport and logistics solutions, digital services, and supply chain management. With a legacy spanning more than 500 years, Gebrüder Weiss continues to balance innovation with sustainability, implementing a range of environmental, economic, and social initiatives to support long-term growth and operational excellence.
