FIATA gears up for a year of global engagement and industry advancement in 2025

The International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations (FIATA) is poised for a dynamic 2025, marked by expanded regional engagement and a focus on driving industry advancement, according to Director General Stéphane Graber. With a comprehensive program of regional field meetings and the highly anticipated World Congress, FIATA aims to foster collaboration, address key challenges, and shape the future of global freight forwarding.

“2025 promises to be a year of growth and impact,” Graber stated, highlighting the strategic importance of FIATA’s regional initiatives. Four key FIATA Regional Field Meetings are scheduled:

  • 2025 FIATA Region Africa and Middle East (RAME) Field Meeting, Zanzibar, Tanzania: April 30 – May 1
  • 2025 FIATA Region Asia-Pacific (RAP) Field Meeting, Delhi, India: May 21-24
  • 2025 FIATA Region Americas (RAMS) Field Meeting, São Paulo, Brazil: August 19-22
  • 2025 FIATA Region Europe (REU) Field Meeting, Prague, Czechia: September 3-4

These meetings will serve as crucial platforms for dialogue and collaboration, enabling members to address region-specific challenges and capitalize on emerging opportunities.

The pinnacle event of the year, the 2025 FIATA World Congress, will convene in Hanoi, Vietnam, from October 6-10. This global gathering will bring together industry leaders and stakeholders to explore the future of freight forwarding and FIATA’s pivotal role in its evolution.

FIATA’s commitment to trade facilitation, digitalization, sustainability, and training remains central to its mission. “We are committed to equipping our members with the tools, knowledge, and skills they need to thrive,” Graber emphasized. “Our continued investment in educational initiatives and digital transformation will ensure the sector’s competitiveness and resilience.”

The year’s activities commence with the 2025 FIATA HQ Meeting to be held in Geneva, Switzerland, from March 17-20. This dynamic event will feature a forward-thinking program covering critical industry topics, including:

  • Addressing Major Issues in Multimodal Transport Logistics
  • Building a Modern Airfreight Logistics Future
  • Building Cyber Resilience with the World Economic Forum
  • Fostering Collaboration for the Future of Freight Forwarding
  • Implementing the WCO Shenzhen Action Plan on AEO Programmes
  • Optimising Key Multimodal Transport Corridors with the International Transport Forum, UN ESCAP and UN/CEFACT
  • Leveraging Regional Free Trade Agreements
  • Data Ownership and Trusted Networks in Practice
  • Everything You Need to Know to Start Using the eFBL
  • Practical Aspects to Insure Freight Forwarders’ Risks.
  • The HQ Meeting will also lay the groundwork for the regional meetings, reinforcing a unified vision for industry development.
