Lauritzen Bulkers acquires Alexander & Blake to expand presence in North and South America

Hansa.news Global reports that Lauritzen Bulkers, a Danish shipping company, has successfully acquired Alexander & Blake, a Canadian firm specializing in break-bulk and project cargo. Based in Burlington, Canada, Alexander & Blake has been a key player in the shipping industry for over 30 years, primarily focusing on operations in North and South America.

Lauritzen Bulkers, headquartered in Copenhagen, operates a fleet of 90 to 110 Handysize and Ultramax vessels. With this acquisition, Lauritzen strengthens its position in the American market by integrating Alexander & Blake’s expertise and strong customer base into its global chartering and freight services. While the financial terms of the deal were not disclosed, the integration of the two companies is expected to proceed seamlessly.

“The discussions we’ve had with the Alexander & Blake team over the past few months have demonstrated their exceptional capabilities and how they will contribute to Lauritzen Bulkers’ global shipping services from day one,” said Rasmus Francis Jensen, Vice President of Chartering and Lauritzen Bulkers Parcel Service.

Under the new arrangement, operations and existing customer contracts will continue under the brand name “Alexander & Blake – by Lauritzen Bulkers,” with all employees retained. The merger will allow Lauritzen Bulkers to further expand its reach and continue providing reliable and efficient services across the Americas.
