The toll adjustments are part of NLEX Corp.’s plan to recover costs and improve the quality of service. To help mitigate the effects of these increases on motorists, NLEX Corp. was authorized to collect only 50% of the initially approved 2022 toll rate adjustments during the first phase of implementation. This decision was made to help manage the impact of inflation on expressway users.
Additionally, the new toll rates include a provision to recover NLEX Corp.’s investments in the recently completed Candaba 3rd Viaduct, located within the Closed System. The Candaba 3rd Viaduct, which was opened in stages—Zone 1 on August 15, 2024, Zone 2 on October 22, 2024, and fully operational as of December 10, 2024—will now be subject to add-on toll fees.
These toll adjustments were rigorously reviewed by the Toll Regulatory Board (TRB) and approved after NLEX Corp. met all necessary procedural and regulatory requirements under the 2013 TRB Revised Rules of Procedure.
