Philippines plays critical role in global supply chain for semiconductor – PEZA

The Philippines plays a critical role in the global supply chain, handling over 10 percent of the world’s outsourced semiconductor assembly and testing, Tereso O. Panga, director general of the Philippine Economic Zone Authority (PEZA) pointed out.

Panga delivered a keynote address before leaders and members from an international network of logistics experts for the Europe Asia Alliance (EAA) Annual Global Meeting 2025, held recently at the Shangri-la Boracay resort.

“The country exported $28.9 billion worth of integrated circuits, making it the 9th largest exporter worldwide in 2023,” Panga stressed.

He cited world-renowned companies such as Texas Instruments, Analog Devices, Amkor, and ASE that operate within PEZA ecozones to have contributed to establishing the country’s reputation as a key manufacturing powerhouse.

Likewise, Panga discussed the importance of enhancing the country’s logistics and supply chain to further position the Philippines as an emerging strategic hub for advanced manufacturing and logistics.

The event, hosted by Container Bridge Philippines, Inc. (CBPI), the exclusive Philippine representative of the EAA and a valued ecozone investor, brought together close to a hundred industry leaders, decision-makers, and logistics experts from 52 countries around the word for collaboration and strategic discussions. The event also highlighted the growing importance of cross-border partnerships and innovation in freight logistics.
