Pres. Marcos reaffirms commitment to strengthening national infrastructure

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to improving the nation’s infrastructure during his inspection on the ongoing construction of Subsection 3 of the Cavite-Laguna Expressway (CALAX), also known as the Governor’s Drive Interchange in Cavite.

Subsection 3 is the first part of the Cavite segment of CALAX and is slated for full operation by the third quarter of 2025. Currently, the project is 44 percent complete.

The Cavite segment of CALAX also includes the Cavitex Connection and Open Canal Interchange. Meanwhile, the Laguna segment is fully operational, with key interchanges such as Sta. Rosa, Tagaytay, Laguna Boulevard, Laguna Technopark, and Mamplasan Toll Barrier already in use.

Once completed, the 44-kilometer CALAX will reduce travel time between the Cavite Expressway (CAVITEX) and the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX) by approximately 45 minutes. It is expected to serve up to 95,000 motorists daily.

In addition to improving travel efficiency, the CALAX project will create a seamless connection between Metro Manila and Region IV-A (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon), boosting the region’s appeal as a key investment hub.
