As the Holy Week exodus gets underway, immigration counters at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 are operating smoothly—without the usual long queues of travelers, according to Presidential Communications Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro.
“There are no more lines at the immigration counters in NAIA Terminal 3. Even during rush hour, it’s now easier for departing passengers,” Castro said during a Malacañang press briefing on Tuesday.
She attributed the improved experience to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure a more comfortable and efficient travel process for all passengers.
The Bureau of Immigration (BI), in coordination with the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA), New NAIA Infrastructure Corporation (NNIC), and the Department of Transportation (DOTr), jointly implemented measures to decongest immigration areas and streamline operations.
Castro noted that all 44 immigration counters at Terminal 3 are now fully operational, significantly speeding up the processing time for departing travelers.
“The President has instructed us to make the travel experience convenient and safe for all passengers. This is the quick and effective response of concerned agencies to improve immigration processing at our airports,” she added.
The Bureau of Immigration estimates around 50,000 travelers per day will pass through NAIA during the Holy Week peak.
