ICTSI expands presence in Brazil with strategic acquisition in Rio de Janeiro

International Container Terminal Services, Inc. (ICTSI), through its wholly owned subsidiary ICTSI Americas B.V., has acquired a 47% stake in FII Inhaúma (INHAÚMA FUNDO DE INVESTIMENTO IMOBILIÁRIO – FII). This investment grants ICTSI perpetual rights to a key property where the company plans to develop a future private use terminal (TUP).

The property, spanning approximately 32 hectares, comprises the inactive “Estaleiro Inhaúma” shipyard located at Rua General Gurjão nº 02, Caju, in the city of Rio de Janeiro. It sits adjacent to ICTSI’s existing RIO Brasil terminal, providing an immediate opportunity to expand the terminal’s operational footprint.

In the short term, ICTSI RIO Brasil will utilize the acquired site to increase capacity for its ongoing operations. Long-term plans include transforming the area into a fully developed terminal, significantly enhancing the logistics and operational capabilities of the Port of Rio de Janeiro.

This strategic move aligns with ICTSI’s broader growth objectives and reinforces its commitment to investing in high-potential port infrastructure. With operations in 20 countries across six continents, ICTSI has established itself as one of the world’s leading port management companies.

Operating in diverse and often complex environments, ICTSI consistently upholds the highest standards of excellence, professionalism, and integrity.

Guided by a strong mission and core values, the company remains committed to sustainable development and ethical global citizenship. These principles are detailed in ICTSI’s Annual Sustainability Report, which outlines its initiatives and accountability to communities and stakeholders worldwide.
