PSC Chairman Jose T. Pardo to retire in July 2025; Jose Victor P. Paterno named successor

Mr. Jose T. Pardo, 84, has formally informed the Board of Directors of Philippine Seven Corporation (PSC) of his decision to retire and step down as Chairman of the Board and Independent Director after his term this July. His retirement will take effect following the company’s Annual Stockholders’ Meeting on July 17, 2025.

In recognition of his invaluable leadership and contributions since assuming the chairmanship in 2015, the Board has approved Mr. Pardo’s appointment as Chairman Emeritus, effective July 17, 2025, following the Annual Stockholders’ and Organizational Meetings.

Beyond PSC, Mr. Pardo continues to serve in key leadership roles across the Philippine business landscape. He is currently the Chairman and Independent Director of the Philippine Stock Exchange and the Securities Clearing Corporation of the Philippines. His extensive board memberships include serving as Independent Director of JG Summit Holdings, Del Monte Philippines, Araneta Hotels, and League One Financing and Leasing Corp., as well as Non-Executive Director at the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines.

He also chairs several business councils and foundations, including the ECOP Council of Business Leaders, the PCCI Council of Business Leaders, and the Philippine Stock Exchange Foundation.

Mr. Pardo’s remarkable career has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards, such as the Global Excellence Award from the International Chamber of Commerce of the Philippines, the Gat Andres Bonifacio Award, the Bicentenary Legacy Award, the CEO Excel Award, the TOFIL (Outstanding Filipino) Award, and a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Philippine Franchise Association, where he served as Founding Chairman.

In line with the upcoming leadership transition:

  • Jose Victor P. Paterno, currently the President and CEO of PSC, will succeed Mr. Pardo as Chairman of the Board and will also serve as Chairman of the Executive Committee, effective July 17, 2025.
  • Ying-Jung Lee, the current Chief Operating Officer, will be elected as a Director and appointed as the new President of PSC, also effective July 17, 2025.
  • Additionally, Mr. Jose T. Pardo, Mr. Jorge L. Araneta, and Ms. Maria Cristina P. Paterno will join the company’s Advisory Board, providing continued guidance and strategic insight to PSC, beginning July 17, 2025.
