Concreat Holdings Phils. boosts cement output by 26% with new Solid Cement Plant line

Concreat Holdings Philippines, a majority-owned subsidiary of DMCI Holdings, has fully commissioned a new production line at its Solid Cement Plant in Antipolo City, increasing the facility’s annual capacity by 26%—from 5.7 million metric tons (MT) to 7.2 MT as of April 2025.

This capacity upgrade underscores Concreat’s commitment to national infrastructure development through the consistent supply of high-quality cement products. The newly operational line successfully passed all confirmatory tests, meeting stringent operational and quality standards.

“This expansion is a pivotal step in Concreat’s turnaround. With increased capacity, a more efficient kiln, and the use of Semirara coal, we’re not only cutting production costs but also building the foundation for long-term recovery,” said Herbert M. Consunji, President and CEO of Concreat Holdings Philippines.

The upgraded line expands the Solid Cement Plant’s capacity from 1.9 MT to 3.4 MT per year, enhancing the company’s ability to meet growing demand for cement in critical infrastructure such as housing, roads, and bridges.

Beyond increased production, the expansion is expected to generate both direct and indirect employment in nearby communities. Concreat is also investing in workforce development through skills training and livelihood programs aimed at fostering long-term local resilience.

In recognition of its strategic value to the Philippine economy, the project received fiscal incentives and an income tax holiday from the Board of Investments (BOI).

The new line incorporates modern, energy-efficient technology designed to lower emissions and reduce energy consumption, aligning with Concreat’s sustainability goals.

Formerly known as Cemex Holdings Philippines, Concreat is 51% owned by DMCI Holdings, Inc. and operates under the well-established cement brands APO, Rizal, and Island. Its operations are carried out through two subsidiaries: APO Cement Corporation and Solid Cement Corporation.
