The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has successfully completed the multi-year construction of the Navotas Convention Center, set to become the city’s premier venue for large-scale events and public gatherings.
DPWH Secretary Manuel M. Bonoan, citing a report from Undersecretary for Regional Operations Roberto R. Bernardo and DPWH National Capital Region OIC-Director Gerard P. Opulencia, announced that the project, launched in June 2020, is now 100% complete and ready for use.
With a total cost of ₱535.996 million, the project delivered a five-storey facility spanning 8,584.50 square meters. The new convention center is designed to host government events, sports competitions, trade fairs, and cultural activities.
Key features include a multipurpose playing area with a 2,633-seat capacity, a spacious lobby and reception area, ample parking, fully air-conditioned function halls, locker rooms, a cafeteria, security and admin booths, and accessible, gender-inclusive restrooms. The building is also equipped with mechanical and electrical systems, modern lighting and ventilation, fire detection and alarm systems, automatic fire protection, and emergency exits compliant with current building codes.
“The completion of this modern Navotas Convention Center is a significant milestone under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s ‘Build, Better, More’ program, delivering world-class infrastructure that supports local economic development,” said Secretary Bonoan.
