PNP Chief Marbil conducts visits to regional offices, ensures readiness for the 2025 elections

Under the directive of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration to uphold peaceful and orderly elections, Philippine National Police (PNP) Chief Police General Rommel Francisco D. Marbil conducted a series of crucial visits to key regional police offices, reinforcing the PNP’s commitment to a secure and credible electoral process.

From May 9 to May 10, 2025, PGen. Marbil visited Police Regional Office 13 (PRO13), Police Regional Office 9 (PRO9), and Police Regional Office Bangsamoro Autonomous Region (PRO BAR) to assess their preparedness for the upcoming National and Local Elections on May 12, 2025.

During his visit to Camp Col. Rafael C. Rodriguez in Butuan City, PGen. Marbil commended PRO13 for their proactive preparations, specifically highlighting the distribution of Push-to-Talk Over Cellular (POC) radios and the launch of the AGAP Caraga mobile application. AGAP Caraga, an innovative digital platform representing Alerto, Giya, Andam, Paglikay (Alert, Guide, Prepared, Prevent), aims to enhance public awareness and security through real-time notifications, guidance, preparedness, and threat prevention. He also led a Command Conference and a “Talk to Men” session, emphasizing the critical importance of neutrality, professionalism, and strict adherence to the rule of law during the election period.

On May 10, PGen. Marbil proceeded to Zamboanga City, where he reviewed PRO9’s deployment strategies designed to ensure zero election-related incidents. Subsequently, he traveled to Cotabato City, where PRO BAR presented their comprehensive security briefing for the elections. In Cotabato, the PNP Chief also led the blessing of the newly renovated Aviation Security Group (AVSEGROUP) building at Camp Siongco, Awang, Maguindanao del Norte.

These strategic visits underscore the PNP’s unwavering dedication to safeguarding the electoral process and strengthening institutional development to facilitate safe, credible, and peaceful midterm elections. PGen. Marbil’s direct engagement with regional police forces demonstrates the PNP’s commitment to ensuring a secure environment for all Filipinos to exercise their right to vote.

The PNP remains steadfast in its mission to uphold the integrity of the electoral process and ensure the safety and security of all citizens during the upcoming elections.
