President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. joined millions of Filipinos in exercising their democratic right by casting his ballot in the 2025 midterm elections.
The President arrived at Mariano Marcos Memorial Elementary School in Batac City, Ilocos Norte, at 7:08 a.m. to vote at Precinct Number 36-A. He was accompanied by his mother, former First Lady Imelda Romualdez-Marcos, and his sister, Irene Marcos-Araneta.
President Marcos participated in the electoral process alongside fellow citizens, patiently lining up and receiving his ballot from election officers. He proceeded to cast his votes, taking approximately three minutes to mark his selections. After inserting his ballot into the precinct count optical scan (PCOS) machine, the President verified the printed receipt to ensure the accuracy of his votes.
Following the standard procedure, an election officer applied indelible ink to his right index finger, which the President displayed to the gathered crowd and media, confirming his participation in the election. He then engaged in brief conversations with fellow voters outside the polling precinct and school grounds. Ilocos Norte 1st District Representative Sandro Marcos also joined the President in Batac City.
The 2025 midterm elections feature a total of 18,280 seats across 14 different positions, ranging from senators to municipal councilors.
