PPA officials commissioned into Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary

In a powerful demonstration of unity and collaboration, the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) and the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) further solidified their partnership through a donning of ranks ceremony held for newly inducted members of the Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary (PCGA) from the PPA.

Led by PCG Commandant Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, the ceremony highlighted the shared commitment of both agencies to ensuring maritime safety, enhancing port security, and elevating public service standards across the nation’s ports.

Newly commissioned PCGA officers from PPA include:

  • Atty. Elmer Nonnatus Cadano, Assistant General Manager for Finance, Legal, and Administration – Commodore

  • Atty. Mark J. Palomar, Assistant General Manager for Operations – Commodore

  • Kelvin Angeles, GM Senior Executive Assistant – Commodore

Also joining the ranks were:

  • Eunice Samonte, PPA Spokesperson – Lieutenant Junior Grade

  • Victoria Gorre, Human Resources Management Department Manager – Lieutenant Junior Grade

  • Nerissa Bernardo, GM Senior Executive Assistant – Lieutenant Junior Grade

Select officials from the Department of Justice (DOJ) and the Philippine National Police (PNP) were also honored during the ceremony, underscoring the growing inter-agency alliance in promoting national development through maritime service.

“The induction of these PPA officials into the PCGA signifies a deeper alignment of our efforts to protect our maritime borders, enhance port operations, and provide world-class service to the Filipino people,” said Admiral Gavan.

Under the leadership of PCG Commandant Admiral Gavan and PPA General Manager Jay Daniel R. Santiago, the strengthened alliance between PCG and PPA is paving the way for a safer, more efficient, and modern maritime transport system—an essential pillar of the country’s economic growth.
