President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday extended his heartfelt gratitude to millions of Filipinos who turned out to vote in the May 12 midterm elections, lauding their perseverance in the face of long queues, high temperatures, and intense heat as a powerful reaffirmation of the country’s democratic values.
“Maraming salamat sa bawat Pilipinong bumoto. Once again, our democracy has renewed itself—peacefully, orderly and with dignity,” President Marcos said in an official statement.
The President emphasized that the Filipino people’s commitment to the electoral process underscores their unwavering dedication to nation-building and democratic participation.
“The May 12 elections were both a celebration of continuity and a call to act on the real challenges our people face,” he added.
President Marcos also expressed appreciation for those who supported the administration’s slate of candidates under the “Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas” coalition.
“We may not have won every seat, but our work and mission continue,” he affirmed. “The work of nation-building needs all who are ready to serve.”
In the lead-up to election day, President Marcos called on voters to exercise their right responsibly and protect the integrity of the democratic process—a message that echoed in the orderly conduct of the polls.
The administration remains committed to working with elected officials from all parties to advance reforms and deliver on the promise of progress and unity for all Filipinos.
