CMA CGM launches dedicated seafarer recruitment platform

In response to significant growth in its maritime operations and the ongoing recruitment challenges within the shipping sector, the CMA CGM Group, a global leader in maritime, land, air, and logistics solutions, today announced the official launch of its dedicated seafarer recruitment platform: CMASHIPS.com.

This new online platform is specifically designed to streamline the application process for prospective seafarers, raise the profile of maritime careers, and achieve a clear objective: to attract, recruit, and retain top seafaring talent across all ranks – officers, engineers, ratings, catering staff, and cadets.

“Seafarers are the cornerstone of our vessel operations and remain our utmost priority. This new website transcends a basic recruitment tool; it paves the way for a fulfilling career characterized by dedication and global opportunities,” stated Julien Loridon, Vice President of CMA SHIPS.

CMASHIPS.com provides:

  • An introduction to CMA SHIPS, the entity responsible for the Group’s fleet management and crewing operations.
  • A simplified and intuitive application interface for candidates.
  • Authentic testimonials from current crew members sharing their experiences onboard.
  • Essential information regarding life at sea, safety protocols, and avenues for career advancement.

CMA SHIPS is entrusted with the management of the CMA CGM Group’s 13,000 seafarers. Collaborating with prominent maritime academies both in France and internationally, CMA SHIPS annually trains new generations of seafarers, adhering to the highest standards of safety, performance, and responsibility. Furthermore, CMA SHIPS oversees the design, technical operation, and management of the Group’s 350 owned vessels.

The launch of CMASHIPS.com is a key component of CMA CGM’s broader strategy to enhance its appeal to seafarers worldwide, particularly amidst fleet expansion and the evolving landscape of maritime transport. This strategy includes proactive initiatives to foster gender diversity onboard through the “She Sails” program, which actively encourages and supports women’s careers within the maritime industry. Through this initiative, CMA SHIPS aims to demonstrate that the maritime sector offers a promising professional future for all talented individuals, irrespective of gender.
