More than 800 skilled workers and professionals have applied for various positions at Aboitiz Construction, which marked the past Labor Day celebration with a nationwide recruitment drive in 13 locations in the country.
Raizza Manuel, Senior Assistant Vice President for People and Corporate Shared Services at Aboitiz Construction, said 93 percent of the applicants are undergoing evaluation for potential placement in its ongoing and upcoming project sites nationwide.
The recruitment activities were simultaneously held in Brgy. San Miguel in Tarlac City; NAC Tower in BGC, Taguig City; Brgy. Alasasin in Mariveles, Bataan; Brgy. Poblacion 4 in San Jose and Brgy. Poblacion B in Rosario, both in Batangas; Brgy. Cale in Tiwi, Albay; Robinsons Place in Iloilo City; SM Seaside and the Aboitiz Corporate Office in Cebu City; Robinsons in Butuan City; SM CDO in Cagayan de Oro City; Robinsons Iligan City in Lanao del Norte; and Aboitiz Construction’s Calinan Office in Davao City.
A variety of positions were offered during the activity, including scaffolders, masons, mechanical technicians, civil engineers, and safety inspectors. Other positions are intended for manpower pooling in preparation for future projects. The successful implementation of the initiative was made possible through partnerships with the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) in Regions 6, 7, 10, and 13; Public Employment Service Offices (PESO) in Tarlac, San Jose, and Iligan City; as well as barangay officials and project partners.
“This Labor Day, we are proud to create pathways for employment and career growth for Filipinos. Through efforts like this, we affirm our commitment to building a highly capable workforce that supports both our projects and the communities where we operate,” Manuel said.
The recruitment drive is an important part of Aboitiz Construction’s broader efforts to empower local talents and contribute to national development through job creation and skills training.
