Secretary Ernesto V. Perez of the Anti-Red Tape Authority (ARTA), the man who has been leading the government’s drive against bureaucratic red tape, has tendered his courtesy resignation to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. in light of the president’s call for all his Cabinet members to submit courtesy resignation.
“In support of your directive to realign government with the people’s expectations, I hereby respectfully tender my courtesy resignation as Director General of the Anti-Red Tape Authority,” said Perez in his May 22, 2025 letter.
Perez said he offered his courtesy resignation with “deep respect and continued commitment to public service.”
Perez has been with ARTA since its organization and was eventually appointed deputy director general under the Duterte administration.
He was named head of ARTA when Marcos took the reigns of government.
