Pres. Marcos Jr leads groundbreaking of Alaminos Sky Garden, advancing green tourism

Demonstrating the administration’s steadfast commitment to sustainable development, job creation, and eco-tourism, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. led the groundbreaking ceremony today for the highly anticipated Sky Garden Project in Barangay Lucap, Alaminos City.

Funded by the Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA), the Sky Garden Project is set to become a new cornerstone of green tourism in Pangasinan. This innovative development will feature elevated green spaces rich in native and ornamental flora, pedestrian walkways, open seating areas, and interactive cultural zones—all designed to promote environmental awareness, community engagement, and cultural exchange.

“The Sky Garden represents our vision for a future where economic growth, environmental protection, and community empowerment go hand in hand,” President Marcos said during the ceremony. “This is more than just a tourism project—it is a step toward a more sustainable and inclusive Philippines.”

Strategically located near the iconic Hundred Islands National Park, the Sky Garden will enhance Alaminos City’s thriving faith-based and ecological tourism sectors. It will also serve as a vital complement to nearby attractions such as the eight-hectare Mangrove Eco-Park and the Pilgrimage Islands.

The site will include:

  • A commercial center for local businesses

  • Multi-purpose hall for events and gatherings

  • Scenic viewing decks with panoramic vistas

  • Parking facilities and accessible public spaces

  • Sustainable design elements including passive cooling systems

In addition to drawing eco-conscious travelers, the project is poised to stimulate significant economic activity. The Sky Garden is expected to support approximately 30 concessionaires and create an estimated 200 local jobs through new business opportunities such as cafés, souvenir shops, and eco-friendly tour services.

“This project reflects our administration’s vision of building inclusive, sustainable communities where economic opportunities are within reach of every Filipino,” the President added.

Once completed, the Sky Garden will not only be a visual and cultural landmark, but a symbol of Alaminos City’s leadership in sustainable urban development—paving the way for a greener, more resilient future.
