BIMP-EAGA strives to establish impactful connectivity

The Brunei Darussalam-Indonesia-Malaysia-Philippines East ASEAN Growth Area (BIMP-EAGA), a sub-regional grouping in ASEAN, celebrated its 30th year of trying to establish impactful connectivity among the three countries.

Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Cristina A. Roque accompanied the President, actively supporting the Philippines’ national development agenda.

Focusing on forging greater synergy among member states to realize the BIMP-EAGA Vision 2025, the President called for accelerated efforts to transform the sub-region into a resilient, inclusive, sustainable, and economically competitive area.

Roque also reinforces these priorities, focusing on enhancing trade facilitation and promoting investments in strategic sectors within BIMP-EAGA’s economic corridors. She also highlighted empowering Filipino MSMEs, particularly in Mindanao and Palawan, to capitalize on sub-regional opportunities.
