The Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) announced that it will offer free rides to its passengers on Wednesday, June 12, 2025, in solidarity with the nation’s 127th Independence Day celebrations. This initiative is by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s directive to implement measures to alleviate transportation costs and foster appreciation for significant national occasions.
Passengers will be able to avail of free rides during two designated periods:
- Morning: 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m.
- Afternoon/Evening: 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
The free rides will be available at all MRT-3 line stations.
This gesture by the MRT-3 aims to provide convenient and cost-free transportation for commuters celebrating Independence Day, while also supporting the government’s efforts to ease the burden of transportation expenses for the public.
