Philippines grants Visa-free entry for Indian tourists

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announces a new visa-free entry policy for Indian nationals visiting the Philippines for tourism, effective 08 June 2025. This significant policy initiative reflects the Philippine Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen tourism ties and boost tourist arrivals from India, one of the fastest-growing outbound travel markets in the world.

Under the newly implemented guidelines, Indian nationals are eligible for the following visa-free entry privileges:

  • 14-Day Visa-Free Entry: Indian tourists may enter the Philippines without a visa for a non-extendible and non-convertible stay of up to 14 days. To avail of this privilege, travelers must present:

    • A passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay

    • Confirmed hotel accommodation or booking

    • Proof of financial capacity

    • A return or onward ticket to the next country of destination

  • 30-Day Visa-Free Entry: Indian nationals who hold valid and current visas or residence permits from any of the following countries — United States, Japan, Australia, Canada, Schengen Area, Singapore, or the United Kingdom (AJACSSUK) — may enter the Philippines without a visa for a tourism stay of up to 30 days. These travelers must also present:

    • A passport valid for at least six (6) months beyond the intended period of stay

    • A return or onward ticket

All visa-free entries must be for tourism purposes only and are non-extendible and non-convertible. Entry may be granted at any Philippine port of entry, subject to standard immigration checks. Indian nationals must not have any derogatory records with the Bureau of Immigration (BI).

Indian nationals seeking to transit through the Philippines, stay long-term, or visit for non-tourism purposes are required to obtain the appropriate Philippine visa from a Philippine Embassy or Consulate in their country of origin, legal residence, or another relevant jurisdiction.

Eligible Indian travelers may also apply for e-Visas via the official Philippine e-Visa website: evisa.gov.ph. The DFA reminds applicants that e-Visas are not convertible or extendible.

This initiative underscores the Philippines’ commitment to promoting people-to-people ties and fostering a more open, welcoming environment for global travelers. The Department of Foreign Affairs encourages Indian nationals to explore the vibrant culture, scenic landscapes, and warm hospitality that the Philippines has to offer.
