Rizal Commercial Banking Corporation (RCBC), a leading financial services provider in the Philippines, is poised to re-enter the domestic bond market with its planned issuance of fixed-rate peso-denominated Sustainability Bonds.
This marks the eighth drawdown from RCBC’s PHP 200 billion Bond and Commercial Paper Programme. The Sustainability Bonds are set to be issued under the ASEAN Sustainability Bond Standards, pending confirmation from the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC).
RCBC has applied for the ASEAN label for these bonds and expects to receive confirmation, though there is no guarantee that such confirmation will be secured. It plans to offer a minimum of PHP 3.0 billion, with the possibility to upsize.
The Bonds will have a maturity of two years and six months from the date of issuance. The proceeds from this offering will be utilized to finance or refinance eligible green and social projects as outlined in RCBC’s Sustainable Finance Framework, strengthening the Bank’s commitment to a greener and more sustainable future.
Standard Chartered Bank (SCB) and RCBC Capital Corporation will serve as Joint Lead Arrangers and Bookrunners for the transaction, while SCB and RCBC will act as Selling Agents.
The public offering period is expected to take place from June 25, 2025, to July 9, 2025, subject to final management determination, market conditions, and other factors. The Bonds are projected to be issued and listed with the Philippine Dealing and Exchange Corp on July 17, 2025.
