PAL revolutionizes customer experience with launch of New Distribution Capability (NDC) by Amadeus

Philippine Airlines (PAL), the country’s flag carrier, today announced a significant leap forward in air travel distribution with the launch of its new, dynamic booking and selling platform. This innovative platform is powered by its integration with the New Distribution Capability (NDC) by Amadeus, marking a bold step into the future of personalized and efficient travel.

The adoption of NDC transforms how PAL interacts with its travel partners and customers. It provides direct access to a wider range of passenger preferences, from flight schedules and seat selections to in-flight meals and other ancillary services. This initiative is set to bring greater personalization, transparency, and overall efficiency to the entire travel experience.

“We are excited to pioneer this modern distribution solution in the country,” said Justin Warby, PAL Vice President for Sales and Distribution at Philippine Airlines. “This undertaking is in line with PAL’s commitment to modernize distribution methods and deliver benefits for distribution partners and customers.”

Through the NDC platform, PAL’s partners will now be able to offer more competitive and personalized ancillary products, including tailored seat selections, prepaid baggage options, and various meal choices.

Travel partners can connect to PAL’s NDC platform through three convenient channels:

  • Connect API: For seamless integration with existing travel agency ticketing solutions.
  • Connect Hub: A ready-to-use travel agency portal.
  • Connect +: Access to NDC content via the aggregator platform.

The rollout of the new platform will begin in key international markets, including the United States, Canada, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, and Saudi Arabia.

NDC will be implemented alongside the existing Global Distribution System (GDS), ensuring a smooth and seamless transition for PAL’s extensive global network of partners and customers. By adopting the NDC standard, Philippine Airlines joins over 60 other leading global airlines, reinforcing its unwavering commitment to innovation, efficiency, and delivering a superior customer experience.
