The Power Sector Assets and Liabilities Management (PSALM) Corporation announced the remittance of PHP8.9 billion in dividends to the National Government through the Bureau of the Treasury. This significant contribution, made on June 23, 2025, reflects PSALM’s robust financial performance for fiscal year 2024.
According to PSALM Vice-President for Finance Manuel Marcos M. Villalon II, the Department of Finance (DOF), in its letter dated April 7, 2025, assessed this amount to represent a 75% dividend rate. This figure substantially surpasses the mandated minimum of 50% as stipulated under Republic Act No. 7656, underscoring PSALM’s exceptional financial stewardship.
“This substantial remittance underscores PSALM’s unwavering commitment to fiscal responsibility and is expected to significantly fund the National Government’s nation-building initiatives,” stated PSALM President and CEO Dennis Edward A. Dela Serna.
The 2024 dividend amount is a comprehensive sum derived from PSALM’s net taxable income, subject to regular income tax, gross income subject to final withholding tax, and adjusted income exempt from applicable taxes.
The authority for this dividend remittance was officially approved by the PSALM Board during its meeting on June 20, 2025, which also authorized the President and CEO, or a designated representative, to execute all necessary documentation for the transaction.
