Alternergy receives first shipment of 8MW wind turbines for Tanay wind power project

Alternergy Holdings Corporation (ALTER), a leading Philippine renewable energy company, announced a significant milestone for its flagship Tanay Wind Power Project with the successful delivery of the first batch of wind turbine generators (WTGs). The shipment, which includes twelve (12) 90-meter wind blades and other critical components, arrived by ocean barge at Alternergy Tanay Wind Corporation’s (ATWC) newly constructed jetty at Dinahican Port in Infanta, Quezon.

This initial delivery marks a crucial step forward for the 128-megawatt (MW) Tanay Wind Power Project, poised to become a major contributor to the nation’s clean energy transition. Each of the project’s turbines boasts an impressive capacity of 8MW, making them the largest and most powerful wind turbines to be deployed in the Philippines to date.

“The arrival of these first wind turbine components is a momentous occasion for Alternergy and a testament to our unwavering commitment to expanding the Philippines’ renewable energy footprint,” said a spokesperson for Alternergy Holdings Corporation. “The Tanay Wind Power Project, with its advanced 8MW turbines, will not only significantly boost our country’s clean energy supply but also set a new benchmark for large-scale wind energy development in the region.”

The project, spearheaded by Alternergy’s unit ATWC, is designed to harness the strong wind resources in Tanay, Rizal, providing a reliable and sustainable source of power to the national grid. The deployment of such high-capacity turbines is expected to optimize energy generation efficiency and reduce the overall environmental impact.

Alternergy Holdings Corporation is dedicated to developing and operating renewable energy projects that support the Philippines’ energy security goals and contribute to a more sustainable future. The Tanay Wind Power Project is a key component of this vision, reinforcing the company’s position at the forefront of the country’s renewable energy sector.
