In a significant step towards realizing President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s administration’s Bagong Pilipinas vision for a healthier and more resilient nation, the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) led the groundbreaking ceremony for the Ramon Revilla Sr. Sports Arena in Barangay Molino IV, Bacoor City, Cavite.
The much-anticipated project, which has secured an initial allocation of P250 million from the 2024 General Appropriations Act (GAA), spans 1.42 hectares of development within a larger 5.2-hectare property. Its primary objective is to equip the residents of Bacoor and its surrounding communities with a modern, comprehensive facility designed to foster physical fitness, promote healthy living, and encourage active lifestyles.
Upon its completion, the Ramon Revilla Sr. Sports Arena will boast a wide array of amenities, including a robust road network, pedestrian-friendly sidewalks, an outdoor covered court, an expansive open activity area, a statue, a monument plaza, decorative walls, plant boxes, benches, and essential lighting works.
“The Ramon Revilla Sr. Sports Arena Project is not just a facility—it’s an investment in the future of the community’s health, well-being, and unity,” stated DPWH Region 4A Director Jovel G. Mendoza, underscoring the project’s profound impact beyond its physical structure.
The groundbreaking event was graced by prominent public figures, including Cavite 2nd District Representative Lani Mercado Revilla and Bacoor City Mayor Strike B. Revilla, signifying strong local government support for the initiative.
Implemented by the DPWH Regional Office 4A, Phase 1 of the new Bacoor City sports arena project is on track for completion by December 2025.
