EEI Corporation, a leading construction company, has received the notice of award from the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) for the design and construction of Phase 1 of the Philippine International Exhibition Center (PIEC). This significant government project, valued at PHP 15.7 billion, is poised to establish the country as a premier destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) in Asia.
The PIEC will rise in Pasay Harbor City, a newly reclaimed island in Manila Bay, and is set to become the largest exhibition and convention center in Southeast Asia with a gross exhibition area spanning 269,000 square meters.

This key infrastructure project underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing the competitiveness of the country’s MICE sector. Its construction is anticipated to significantly boost trade promotion, tourism development, attract foreign investments, and stimulate overall economic growth.
Mr. Antonio further added, “We are indeed excited that such an important building project of the President, his excellency President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., has been awarded to EEI Corporation. This will be an opportunity for us to showcase Filipino creativity and the overall strength of the construction industry in the Philippines. Although recognizing some materials that we will inevitably have to import, we are conscious of maximizing Filipino content in the building of this iconic landmark. Phase 1 of the project encompasses the detailed engineering and design, foundation work, and the architectural and structural development of the PIEC. Once completed, the center will host both local and international events, elevating the Philippines’ presence in the global exhibitions arena. The awarding of the PIEC contract to EEI highlights the government’s strategic infrastructure investment drive under its vision to bolster the Philippine economy and reaffirms EEI’s role as a reliable partner in nation-building through the delivery of flagship development projects.
