The Land Bank of the Philippines (LANDBANK) today formally launched its AGRISENSO Plus Lending Program in Pototan, Iloilo, a region renowned as the rice granary of Panay. This significant event marks the program’s inaugural roll-out in the Western Visayas region and its sixth nationwide, reinforcing LANDBANK’s commitment to fostering resilient agricultural communities across the country.
More than 1,500 farmers and agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) participated in the launch, signifying a strong collective effort to enhance agricultural sustainability and food security. The program aims to provide comprehensive support to the farming sector, addressing critical needs through accessible financing, digital solutions, and capacity-building initiatives.
The event featured a series of empowering activities designed to equip farmers with essential tools and knowledge. These included vital financial literacy sessions, a comprehensive orientation on digital banking, convenient on-the-spot distribution of ATM cards, and seamless account opening facilitated by the user-friendly LANDBANK Mobile Banking App (MBA). These initiatives underscore LANDBANK’s dedication to digital inclusion and financial empowerment for its agricultural stakeholders.
Leading the momentous occasion was LANDBANK President and CEO Lynette V. Ortiz. She was joined by esteemed officials from key partner agencies, including the Department of Agriculture (DA) Undersecretary Atty. Asis G. Perez, Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) President Atty. Jovy C. Bernabe, Agricultural Credit Policy Council (ACPC) OIC-Executive Director Ma. Cristina G.
