LTO suspends Rural Transit Mindanao driver’s license following Dumingag road crash

The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has announced the immediate suspension of the bus driver’s license of Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. (RTMI) involved in a road crash that occurred yesterday, July 10, 2025, in Dumingag, Zamboanga del Sur. This swift action is in direct compliance with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure the safe and smooth travel of all passengers across the country.

The incident prompted an immediate response from regulatory bodies. In addition to the license suspension, the LTO, in coordination with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB), has issued a summons to the manager and owner of Rural Transit Mindanao Inc. to appear before the agencies in connection with the road crash.

“The safety of the commuting public remains our utmost priority,” stated a representative from the LTO. “This decisive action underscores our commitment to accountability and adherence to the President’s mandate for secure and efficient public transportation. We will conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident to prevent future occurrences.”

The joint summons by the LTO and LTFRB aims to gather comprehensive details regarding the crash, assess the company’s compliance with safety regulations, and determine any further necessary actions to uphold public safety standards.
