Philippine Ambassador Palec presents credentials to North Macedonia President

Philippine Ambassador Giovanni E. Palec formally presented his Letters of Credence to Her Excellency President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova of the Republic of North Macedonia, signifying the official commencement of his role as the first non-resident Ambassador of the Republic of the Philippines to the Republic of North Macedonia. The historic ceremony took place at the Presidential Office, Vila Vodno.

In his remarks, Ambassador Palec conveyed the heartfelt greetings of Philippine President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. to President Siljanovska-Davkova and the people of North Macedonia. Expressing deep honor in assuming his post, Ambassador Palec articulated optimism for the growth and prosperity of diplomatic relations between the two nations, emphasizing their foundation on shared values and principles, and highlighting opportunities for close cooperation across various fields.

President Siljanovska-Davkova extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Palec, reaffirming her country and government’s commitment to fostering stronger ties with the Philippines. She acknowledged the profound significance of this diplomatic milestone and voiced keen interest in exploring avenues to deepen bilateral relations, particularly in developing cultural ties, scientific and educational exchange, tourism, and trade.

Following the ceremony, a private meeting ensued where President Siljanovska-Davkova and Ambassador Palec engaged in a fruitful and substantive discussion. Their dialogue covered various aspects of bilateral relations, regional developments, and promising opportunities for future collaboration.

Ambassador Palec was accompanied during the ceremony by his spouse, Mrs. Novelyn Palec, First Secretary Therese R. Cantada, and Attaché Delano B. Munar.

The Republic of the Philippines and the Republic of North Macedonia established formal diplomatic relations on September 22, 2021. Ambassador Palec’s appointment represents a pivotal step forward in expanding engagement and partnership between the two nations, paving the way for enhanced cooperation and mutual understanding.
