MRT-3 offers free rides for persons with disabilities

In a significant move to support the community and in celebration of National Disability Rights Week, the Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT-3) will be offering free rides for Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) from July 17 to July 23, 2025. This initiative aligns with President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos, Jr.’s directive to alleviate transportation costs for commuters and honor important national observances.

PWDs can avail of free rides during peak hours: 7:00 AM to 9:00 AM and 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM daily throughout the specified week. To claim their free ride, individuals simply need to present their PWD ID to station personnel at the service gate.

“We are proud to provide this service to our PWD commuters, especially during National Disability Rights Week,” an MRT-3 spokesperson stated. “This is our way of contributing to a more inclusive society and acknowledging the importance of accessibility for everyone.”

Furthermore, PWDs and senior citizens who travel outside of the designated free ride hours will continue to benefit from a 50% fare discount, which is already in effect.

This program underscores the commitment of the government and the MRT-3 to making public transportation more accessible and affordable for all Filipinos.
