Philippine National Railways resumes Calamba-Lucena operations

In a significant move to enhance commuter convenience and safety, the Philippine National Railways (PNR) today announced the resumption of its train services on the Calamba-Lucena route. The route, which was temporarily closed for essential maintenance works, is now fully operational, following the President’s directive to prioritize more convenient and safer travel for commuters.

The re-opening of the Calamba-Lucena line marks a crucial step in improving public transportation infrastructure and connectivity between Laguna and Quezon provinces. The PNR’s diligent maintenance efforts ensure that the railway system meets the highest standards of safety and operational efficiency, providing a reliable mode of transport for thousands of daily commuters.

Passengers will once again be able to utilize the train services with designated stops at key stations across both provinces. In Laguna, these stations include San Pablo, Calamba, IRRI, College, Los Baños, Masili, and Pansol. For commuters in Quezon Province, the train will serve Lucena, Sariaya, Lutucan, Candelaria, and Tiaong (Lalig).

The resumption of operations is expected to significantly ease traffic congestion on major roads and offer a more economical and environmentally friendly alternative for inter-provincial travel. The PNR is committed to providing a comfortable and secure journey for all its passengers, contributing to the nation’s broader transportation goals.
