The Philippine National Railways (PNR) today affirmed its commitment to advancing the nation’s transportation infrastructure, with Atty. Jadee A. Sarmiento, PNR Chief Corporate Attorney, providing a comprehensive update on the North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Project at the 4th Subic-Clark Business Conference 2025.
A flagship initiative of the Marcos administration, the NSCR Project is a collaborative undertaking between the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the PNR. This ambitious 147-kilometer railway system is poised to revolutionize connectivity, linking Clark to Calamba and projected to serve an impressive 800,000 passengers daily upon its operational launch.
During her presentation, Atty. Sarmiento detailed the significant strides made in the project’s development, underscoring its strategic importance for economic growth and regional mobility. “The North-South Commuter Railway is more than just a railway; it’s a vital artery that will connect communities, foster economic activity, and provide a modern, efficient, and sustainable transportation solution for hundreds of thousands of Filipinos,” stated Atty. Sarmiento. “We are dedicated to delivering this transformative project, which will significantly ease travel and contribute to the nation’s progress.”
Beyond her project update, Atty. Sarmiento also lent her expertise to a dynamic panel discussion focused on career opportunities within the burgeoning transportation sector. She joined the Chief Business Development Officer of Clark International Airport Corporation, offering insights into the diverse employment prospects emerging from infrastructure development.
The 4th Subic-Clark Business Conference, hosted by the Italian Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines (ICCPI), served as a crucial platform, convening key industry stakeholders to explore and promote business growth, strategic developments, and investment opportunities within the vibrant Subic-Clark growth corridor.
