DOTr assures Rush PH developer of gov’t support

Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon expressed full support to Joshua Bumanlag, the developer of Rush PH which tracks real-time train arrivals, allowing commuters to plan ahead their travel.

Secretary Dizon assured Bumanlag that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. supports the initiative to help ease the burden of daily commute through digitalization and crowdsource reporting.

The transport chief said the Department of Transportation (DOTr) will integrate the web-based application to the three rail lines.

Through the Rush PH web-based application, commuters can track or report train arrivals at the MRT-3, LRT-1 and LRT-2 rail systems in real time. Commuters can also check for limited train services due to glitches or if train stations are empty, moderate, crowded or packed.

According to Joshua, before developing the application, he personally checked the headway of each train in each station at the MRT-3, LRT-1 and LRT-2.

“Dito sa app, I don’t want to complicate things as much as possible.

To maximize its use, Rush-PH.com can also be used for the EDSA Busway system, which can be patterned after Singapore’s bus system, Secretary Dizon said.
