The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) announced the reopening of 12 national road sections that were previously closed due to the effects of the Southwest Monsoon and Tropical Cyclone Crising. However, as of 6:00 AM Monday, July 21, 2025, four (4) road sections remain impassable, and three (3) others have limited access.
The DPWH continues its efforts to clear and restore full access to all affected areas.
Road sections that remain impassable include:
- Apayao (Calanasan)-Ilocos Norte Road, Tanglagan, Calanasan, Apayao, due to high water elevation.
- Claveria-Calanasan-Flora-Lasam Road, Barangay Ninoy, Calanasan, Apayao, due to a road cut.
- Kennon Road, Camp 6, Tuba, Benguet, due to soil collapse.
- Liloy-Siocon Road, Tubongon, Baliguian, Zamboanga del Norte, due to a landslide.
Road sections with limited access are:
- Bigaa-Plaridel via Bulacan & Malolos Road, Barangay Panginay, Balagtas (Bigaa), Bulacan, which is passable to heavy vehicles only due to flooding.
- Bato Bridge along Amungan – Palauig-Banlog Road, Barangay Bato, Palauig, Zambales, which is passable to light vehicles only as a precautionary measure.
- Diokno Highway, K0087+020, Batangas, which is passable to light vehicles only due to road slip.
The partial cost of damage to public infrastructure is currently estimated at P526.81 million. This includes P195.52 million in damage to national roads, P9.04 million to bridges, and P322.25 million to flood control structures in Regions 6 and the Negros Island Region. These figures are subject to further field validation.
The DPWH assures the public that it is working diligently to ensure the safety and accessibility of national roads and will provide updates as more information becomes available.
