DMW welcomes 33 OFWs from Israel

Another group of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and their dependents, who opted for the Philippine government’s voluntary repatriation program from Israel, have safely returned home, receiving immediate and comprehensive assistance as directed by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.

The latest batch, comprising 33 OFWs and two dependents, arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City on July 23, 2025. A dedicated “whole-of-government” team, spearheaded by the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) and the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), was on hand to provide immediate support.

Migrant Workers Secretary Hans Leo J. Cacdac personally welcomed the repatriates, reiterating the government’s unwavering commitment to their welfare. “Tuloy-tuloy lang tayo sa pagpapauwi ng ating mga kababayan na naiipit sa kaguluhan. At nandito ang ating gobyerno, ayon na rin sa tagubilin ng ating Pangulong Marcos na tulungan ang ating mga mahal na OFWs at kanilang pamilya,” Secretary Cacdac stated, emphasizing the continuous efforts to bring home Filipinos affected by the conflict and the President’s directive to assist OFWs and their families.

Upon arrival, the OFWs received immediate financial aid from the DMW AKSYON Fund, the OWWA Emergency Repatriation Fund, and additional cash assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).

Beyond immediate relief, the repatriates will also benefit from comprehensive reintegration support through the National Reintegration Network. This includes retooling programs from the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA), as well as various employment, livelihood, and development initiatives designed to ensure their successful return to their communities with productive and sustainable livelihoods.

To date, the Philippine government has successfully repatriated a total of 1,468 Filipinos from Israel through its voluntary repatriation program, which commenced in October 2023. These ongoing efforts underscore the government’s steadfast dedication to safeguarding the well-being of its citizens abroad and facilitating their safe return and reintegration into Philippine society.
