DOTr, PCG, and PPA offer free rides amidst typhoon to ensure commuter safety

In a swift and coordinated effort to prioritize the safety and well-being of the commuting public during the ongoing typhoon, the Department of Transportation (DOTr), the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG), and the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) announced the continuation of their joint initiative providing free transportation services. This crucial response is a direct result of the President’s directive to ensure safe passage for all citizens affected by the severe weather conditions.

Commuters on key routes across Metro Manila and its surrounding areas can avail themselves of free rides on designated buses and trucks operated by participating agencies. This service is designed to alleviate transportation challenges and minimize risks for individuals traveling amidst the typhoon’s impact.

The free ride services are available on the following routes and schedules for Thursday, July 24:

  • Morning Schedule: 7:00 AM to 10:00 AM
  • Evening Schedule: 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM

Available Routes:

  • Quiapo-Fairview
  • Quiapo-Angono
  • Legarda-Angono
  • Lawton-Alabang
  • Roxas Boulevard-Sucat

The DOTr, PCG, and PPA urge all commuters to take advantage of these free services and to prioritize their safety by heeding all government advisories regarding the typhoon. The agencies are committed to continuous monitoring of the situation and will provide further updates as necessary.
