During his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA), President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. announced that repairs on the Philippine National Railways (PNR) Bicol Line, significantly damaged by Typhoon Kristine, are progressing steadily. This includes critical restoration work on the Binahan Bridge.
The President also revealed plans to extend the PNR Bicol line further, connecting Ragay, Camarines Sur, to Tagkawayan, Quezon. This expansion is anticipated to provide substantial relief to motorists regularly contending with heavy traffic between Quezon and the Bicol region.
The Department of Transportation (DOTr), in collaboration with the PNR, under the leadership of General Manager Deovanni S. Miranda, is committed to continuously enhancing the nation’s transportation services as part of the “New Philippines” initiative.
The Philippine National Railways (PNR) is the national railway system of the Philippines, operating both commuter and long-distance lines. It is dedicated to providing efficient, reliable, and accessible rail transport services to the Filipino people.
