PCSO allocates P1 billion to provide patient transport vehicles to all towns and cities

In a significant step toward improving emergency medical services across the Philippines, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has allocated P1 billion to procure 395 additional Patient Transport Vehicles (PTVs). This initiative is a direct response to President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to ensure every city and municipality in the country has at least one PTV.

PCSO General Manager Mel Robles confirmed the procurement, stating that these new vehicles will complete the nationwide distribution under the agency’s Medical Transport Vehicle Donation Program (MTVDP). The program aims to provide timely and efficient transport for individuals requiring urgent medical attention, particularly in remote or underserved areas.

“This project ensures that our partners in local government units can provide immediate assistance to our citizens,” said General Manager Robles. “We are now actively reaching out to our cities and municipalities to deliver these vehicles, fulfilling the promise of a ‘Bagong Pilipinas’ where public service is proactive and goes directly to those in need.”

The announcement follows a recent ceremonial turnover in Dipolog City, where President Marcos and General Manager Robles distributed 106 PTVs to various local government units (LGUs) in the Zamboanga Peninsula, Isabela City, and Lanao del Sur.

The PCSO delivers the PTVs to recipient cities and municipalities at no cost to the local government, a key aspect of President Marcos’s vision to strengthen the country’s healthcare infrastructure and bring essential services closer to the people.
