PNR Naga-Legazpi-Naga route temporarily suspended for bridge repairs

The Philippine National Railways (PNR) announced today the temporary suspension of its Naga-Legazpi-Naga train service, starting tomorrow, Saturday, August 2. The suspension is necessary to allow for critical repair works on the La Medalla Bridge in Baao, Camarines Sur.

This initiative is in direct response to the President’s directive to ensure the safety and reliability of public transportation. The temporary closure will allow PNR to conduct thorough repairs to the bridge, ensuring its structural integrity for the thousands of commuters who use the service daily.

“The safety of our passengers is our top priority,” a PNR spokesperson said. “These repairs are crucial for providing a secure and smooth travel experience on our lines.”

While the La Medalla Bridge is being repaired, PNR will also take the opportunity to conduct comprehensive maintenance on the rails and trains that service the Naga-Legazpi-Naga route.

Resumption of Service

The PNR’s Naga to Legazpi trip, scheduled for 5:30 PM, is set to resume on Monday, August 4. Regular train operations on the Naga-Legazpi-Naga route will be fully back to normal starting Tuesday, August 5.

Travel services on the Naga-Sipocot-Naga and Lucena-Calamba-Lucena routes will continue to operate without interruption.

PNR extends its apologies for any inconvenience this may cause and thanks the public for their understanding as it works to enhance the safety and quality of its services.
