Global logistics leader A.P. Moller – Maersk has reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening the Philippines’ supply chain and logistics landscape through active support of the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Supply Chain and Logistics Center (SCLC) initiative.
At the recent launch of the SCLC, Maersk pledged more than just support, offering its global logistics expertise to help shape the SCLC into a center of excellence for logistics knowledge, practical solutions, and capability development. This initiative aligns closely with Maersk’s vision of becoming the global integrator of container logistics—connecting and simplifying supply chains for customers of all sizes, including small and medium enterprises (SMEs).
“We believe in the transformative power of streamlined logistics,” said Maersk. “By working closely with the DTI and other stakeholders, we aim to empower Filipino SMEs to scale confidently and compete effectively in global markets.”
Maersk has been actively expanding its footprint across Southeast Asia, with over USD 500 million invested in integrated logistics infrastructure across Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, and the Philippines. This strategic growth underscores the company’s commitment to providing end-to-end logistics solutions that drive economic development and regional connectivity.
Through the SCLC initiative, Maersk will collaborate with the DTI to provide technical support, share global best practices, and co-create solutions tailored to the unique needs of the Philippine logistics sector.
“Our partnership with DTI is rooted in a shared vision: to simplify logistics so Filipino businesses can focus on what they do best—innovating, growing, and creating value,” added Maersk.
