LT Group, Inc. (LTG) today announced a strong financial performance for the first half of 2025, reporting an attributable net income of Php14.97 billion. This represents a significant 17% increase compared to the same period in 2024 and marks the company’s second-best first-half and second-quarter result since its follow-on public offering.
The company’s growth was driven by solid contributions from its diverse business segments. Philippine National Bank (PNB) was the largest contributor, accounting for 47% of the total with Php7.03 billion. This was followed by the tobacco business, represented by Fortune Tobacco Corporation (FTC), which contributed Php5.44 billion, or 36%. Tanduay Distillers, Inc. and Asia Brewery, Inc. contributed Php1.35 billion and Php489 million, representing 9% and 4%, respectively.
In recognition of its strong performance, LTG declared a special dividend of Php0.30 per share in June 2025, bringing the total cash dividends for the period to Php6.49 billion.
Key highlights from the operating subsidiaries include:
- The Philippine National Bank (PNB) achieved its best-ever first-half net income of Php12.52 billion, representing a 22% year-on-year increase. This was driven by higher net interest income, which expanded the net interest margin to 4.6%, and increased non-interest income from service fees and trading gains.
- Tanduay Distillers, Inc. (TDI) recorded a historic first-half performance with a net income of Php1.36 billion, a remarkable 91% increase. This was fueled by higher selling prices and a growing nationwide distilled spirits market share, which reached 38.0%.
- Fortune Tobacco Corporation (FTC) saw a 12% increase in net income, driven by stronger shipments from PMFTC, which outpaced overall industry growth. PMFTC also implemented strategic price adjustments to cover excise tax increases.
Eton Properties Philippines, Inc. and Victorias Milling Company also contributed positively to the group’s overall performance, with net incomes of Php352 million and Php276 million, respectively.
