DEPDev, DICT: IRR to address concerns raised against Konektadong Pinoy

The Department of Economy, Planning, and Development (DEPDev) vowed to ensure an inclusive process and to address stakeholder concerns in the crafting of the Implementing Rules and Regulations (IRR) on the Konektadong Pinoy Act, which lapsed into law on Sunday, August 24.

“DEPDev remains committed to working with its partners to keep the law’s implementation faithful to the KP Act’s objectives while addressing stakeholder concerns. The agency will continue providing evidence-based guidance and pursue an inclusive process in crafting the law’s implementing rules and regulations, ensuring that the promise of this reform brings real, equitably shared, and lasting gains for the country,” said Balisacan.

Secretary Henry Aguda, who earlier assured existing telcos and consumers that the IRR will address all concerns raised against the bill, said the Department of Information and Communications Technology DICT will work with DEPDev and stakeholders to draft the IRR.

Aguda stressed that the new law will ensure that no Filipino will be left behind in the digital age.

“Konektadong Pinoy Act is not just about building networks; It’s about building opportunities for every Filipino. By making internet access truly universal, we are creating a foundation for better education, e-commerce growth, accessible government serivces and strong communities. The President’s vision is clear: no Filipino should be left behind in the digital age,” Aguda said.
