AirAsia Philippines expands Cebu hub with reopening of five key routes

AirAsia Philippines is significantly boosting its presence in the “Queen City of the South,” Cebu, by relaunching five key routes from Mactan Cebu International Airport (CEB). This expansion includes three domestic and two international destinations, aiming to capitalize on the region’s strong tourism market.

Starting November 15, 2025, AirAsia will resume flights to:

  • Iloilo (ILO)
  • Caticlan (MPH)
  • Davao (DVO)
  • Kuala Lumpur (KUL)
  • Macau (MFM)

This strategic move is a response to the robust market demand in Metro Cebu, which recorded 5.1 million tourist arrivals in 2024, according to the Department of Tourism Region 7. The reopening of these routes coincides with the beginning of the peak travel season.

“Cebu is a major driver of our growth story in the Philippines,” said AirAsia Philippines President & CEO, Suresh Bangah. “We recognize the immense value of this hub, which connects key domestic and international leisure markets. We are excited to broaden opportunities in the tourism sector, generate jobs, and contribute to inclusive economic growth.”

The airline has already welcomed hundreds of new pilots, cabin crew, and ramp agents to its team, who will be based in Cebu to support the increased flight operations.

Tickets for the newly reopened routes are available for booking now on the MOVE app and airasia.com. As the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline, AirAsia remains dedicated to offering the best-value fares and making air travel accessible to more people.
