Potato Corner (PC), the beloved global flavored fries brand from the Philippines, officially opened its first store in Taipei, Taiwan. This expansion marks a significant milestone for the brand as Taiwan becomes its 16th international market.
The inaugural store is strategically located in the bustling Uni-President Department Store in Taipei’s Xinyi District, a prime location at the heart of the city’s retail and dining scene, easily accessible via major transit hubs. Since its acquisition in 2022 by Shakey’s Pizza Asia Ventures, Inc. (SPAVI), a leading full-service restaurant group, Potato Corner has rapidly expanded its global footprint to 2,345 stores.
This new venture is a collaboration with Taiwan’s Fujin Tree Group, a prominent lifestyle and food and beverage operator with a portfolio that includes Michelin-starred restaurants.
Jay Wu, founder of Fujin Tree Group, expressed his excitement about the partnership, stating, “We are honored to introduce Potato Corner, a beloved global brand, to Taiwan. We look forward to adding more stores by the end of the year, to make Potato Corner the preferred spot for everyday gatherings and joyful moments.”
Vicente Gregorio, President and CEO of SPAVI, shared his enthusiasm for the brand’s expansion. “It’s always a proud moment to bring our beloved brand to new international shores. Potato Corner’s debut in Taipei is a milestone not just for our flavored fries, but for our Group’s vision of ‘WOW-ing’ more guests around the world. With the strong support of our partner, Fujin Tree, we look forward to strengthening and scaling our presence in Taiwan.”
